Story
In 2004 at the age of 11, Mary started a business of selling her art as note cards. My Art Card Co. was born. While taking classes at a local art studio to develop her art skills, a dream had developed: she wanted to own a studio of her own someday to teach and sell art.
Since 8th grade, Mary has been teaching art to kids and adults throughout the Denver Metro area. She taught hundreds of students each week in the form of classes, workshops, summer camps, painting parties, and more.
In 2016 she got married to the love of her life and her best friend and had 3 kids. She transitioned to creating art content on YouTube, and a growing library of online art courses.
20+ years later, today Mary’s business is called Fragile Glory Impressions and it is a place for artists and art teachers looking for community and resources to be the best they can be!

Mary
Mary Langewisch has been painting and drawing since she was 4 years old. Born and raised in Colorado, she is inspired by the light, colors, and textures in nature. To her, art is meant to be beautiful and leave an impression in your mind, much like nature does. Her mission as an artist is to create that beauty and also to inspire others with it.
Mary is a now married and has 3 little kids, and lives in Littleton Colorado. She paints, teaches, and records art content out of her her backyard art studio.
Process
She works mostly in watercolor and acrylic. She is inspired by dramatic skies, clouds, and light. Usually working on wrapped canvas, Mary starts with a textured ground of modeling or fiber paste and starting with a bright underpainting she works her painting in reverse from foreground to background. She uses thick paint layers with a rough bristle brush and the occational palette knife scratch to bring the textures to life. The sky color is the last to be painted leaving the underpainting sparkling through the edges of each layer.
Mission
Mary wants to remind her viewers to look up at the sky. The worries of life fade away when you take in the expanse of it, when you realize of little we are and how great our Creator is. She wants her work to emulate a sense of calm to the viewer and bring them into the presence of peace, even amongst the uncertainty of reality.
